Regarding the crossing between the Sorjoslakes and getting to 1663:
I doubt that there will be any problems crossing between the lakes. As Majjen said, there are a couple of good places between the lakes and one of them was less than knee-deep when I crossed a few weeks back. The other one is a bit narrower and might be deeper, but probably just as doable, especially in aug/sep.
The route to 1663 is pretty straight forward from there, we didn't really encounter any problems on our way up and walked pretty much straight up the south ridge just west of the border. Some short passages where it was a bit steep but they can probably be avoided.
