Topos on Gothenburg area

Hello everyone,

I am visiting Lerum in 3 weeks with a friend and we would love to do some climbing in the area. Since I don't understand the Swedish language (sometimes there's a resemblance with the Dutch language but most of the time its abracadabra for me) its hard for me to find some good topos on Gothenburg area (difficulty 4-5). Can somebody please help? Thanks in advance:) regards, Anneke

Thanks very much! By Topos I mean a map of the area that gives an overview of climbable rocks + a detailed map that shows the different routes (including difficulty) on the different sides of a rock.

Does this mean I have to open an account and log in?

Second link I already encountered, however, I don't understand where to order it (I have sent an emailmessage to the contact adress on that page)

Thanks fo your reply! I am surfing the internet for "Fjallbo" now!:)

Senast ändrad:
I get partial information on Fjallbo

the pages shows "Denna sida är markerad som utkast. Gör sidan ännu bättre genom att fylla i mer!"
I hope I can buy the book;) Thanks for your tips!
By the way; are there any restrictions on climbing in Sweden (acces rights/permits)?

Fjällbo and Utby in gothenburg are nice. If you are visiting Lerum you have nice little area called Aspen close by. Nice sportclimbing and som trad-climbing, a sweet little lake to take a bath in is a bonus, nice place in most possible ways.

I really rekommend you to get a hold on the printed version of the guide previosly mentioned. Maybe you kan make som arrangment if you call one of the lokal climbing stores that sell the guide? I dont know if its possible, but a shop that have book most if the times is, and are whery nice to talk to, are fjällsport http://www.fjallsport.se in gothenburg. If its to much trouble to send the book, maybe they can help you to get a hold of it some other way. Either way it can be worth a try.
Good luck! Climb safe!

Great:)

Thanks, Jörgen! I am sure it's going to work out fine! I am looking forward to climbing in Aspen, Fjällbo & Utby:) (just found the keys to ä and ö)

About access: usually the guidebook has a section about access, but that information is not always up to date. The best bet is to have a look at the Swedish Climbing Association's webpage:

http://www.klatterforbundet.se/accessdatabasen.php?id=28&sid=82&subsida=2

I had success in using Google Translate (http://translate.google.com) on this page.

Neither Fjällbo, Utby or Aspen have any special restrictions (except for that you cannot park at Ungmästaregatan near Utby), just use your common sense and have fun! The climbing there is really great, and remember to bring your trad gear for Fjällbo/Utby!

Best tip ever:)

Hi Daniel,
wow, this is great: the klätterförbundet's site has an English translation! I also tried the Google translation site; I didn't know this existed:) I am having a lot of fun doing my Swedish holpreps now, cheers!
regards,
Anneke
