Well. I just bought a 2008 Proshell Arcteryx Theta AR from a major outfitter store in NYC and I didn't realize until I got home that I paid $450 for a jacket that said MADE IN CHINA. Whiles I was under the impression that the brand was 100% made in Canada. I tried to return it at the store on the grounds that it was fake, but they assured me that it was a genuine jacket delivered from the Arcteryx Company. They gave me a direct number to call since no one at the store knew where Arcteryx mad etheir stuff. After the run around with phone calls an Arcteryx rep confirmed that they do make cheaper items like fanny packs and hats in China, but their premiere goretex Jackets and Backpacks are made in CANADA. However, it still didn't explain why my 2008 Jacket had MADE IN CHINA on it. After my own investigation I found out that as of 1/2008 ALL Arc'teryx items are MADE IN CHINA and will reflect so on the tags. However, this is not reflected on the still high price tags even though they now hire child workers for 10 cents per hour to stitch these $599 Jackets!
To answer your question; If you bought pre-2008 Arcteryx high end Jackets like the Alpha SV, and Beta/Theta AR lines, etc... the are strictly "Made in Canada" not China. If you bought the cheaper SL(3 layer) Jackets, they probably may have been made in China depending on the year (2006-2007 being the years those Jackets may have been made in china) according to the Arcteryx Rep. No one there seems to have 100% knowledge on the origins of where their items are made. But that is the best I can gather from their shady business folks.

Their prices are not going to go down one iota; it is called corporate greed, farming out all production to a Communist nation with no concept of quality control in my opinion. Since Salomon bought out Arc’teryx, Salomon's parent company is Adidas the largest sporting good company in the world just thought you would like to know that fellow gearfreaks, their designs have in my opinion have been simplified to cuts production costs which gives less comfortable articulated apparel. I find that they are straying from their original core philosophy. Yes Arc’teryx is still the innovator and makes improvements, but there are some design elements that have been eliminated that were far superior, that may be do to different designers that don’t have a clue

I just about a fall 08 proshell Arc'teryx Theta AR jacket at REI. All 08 products will be made in china from now on =(. So anything you see with proshell is china made...and the older goretex xcr is still made in canada
go to REI and buy the xcr 07 models since they are on clearance for $310 from $450...yes it's an older model..but its the last model that was made in canada...
i compared the 08 and 07 model, and the quality still seems to be excellent evn though its in china...and the proshell goretex is supposed to be much better and lighter than the XCR
