Hej från Nova Scotia
It was quite a good ice season here in Nova Scotia, Canada.
(Lat 45N, Long 64W)
My first time on the ice was Dec 7 and the last time was April 2.
I still do not skate very well on rough ice, so most
of my ice trips were on "spark" (kicksled). It is also VERY difficult
for me to take "action photos" when I am skating.
Holding the camera in one hand, my poles in the other hand,
I usually fall down
The climate and geography here in Nova Scotia is very much like
southern Sweden (maybe Småland) so there is a great potential for both
tour-skating and kicksledding on our lakes, but hardly anybody skates or
kicksleds now. Sport shops here only sell hockey skates, I buy my
skating equipment from Jamie Hess (Nordic Skater).
One highlight of the season was Easter weekend (Mar 25-27) in
Kejimkujik National Park. We went around just about every island
and cove on the big Keji Lake.
Some photos of this (and previous) winter's highlights at:

For the next 8 months it will be cycling and paddling for
me.
Vi ses
