Det är en beta-mjukvara till Colorado, Oregon och Dakota där du kan använda en KML-fil för att koordinatsätta en bild i GPS:en. Undrar hur snabb den är på att rita upp bilden. Kanske dags att skaffa sig en ny GPS.

Coolt finns det någon info vad i KML som stöds?!?! Det kunde kanske innebära att isgränser, var råkar normalt dyker upp etc. kunde läggas ut i KML.....

Kanske ett sätt att komma runt den begränsning som finns med antal waypoints idag

Kollar jag i de kmz filer som finns på Example Garmin Custom Maps så verkar det bara vara att positionera bilder (kmz fil är en zip fil som innehåller en kml fil och övriga resurser...)

Det var inte alltför svårt att hitta på Garmin-forumet. Ungefär det som jag skrev i min förra postning, "GroundOverlay" med i "Icon" i JPEG-format.

Hm om du läser ut vad som supportas eller ej ur raderna nedan så känns det inte mycket att luta sig mot...

Fördelen att ej ha bilder som laddas upp är att det borde gå snabbare att rendera/överföra etc.

Att kunna lägga in tid i KML skulle kunna ge möjlighet att ha isläggningen i kartan...

Images over 1 mega pixel (1024x1024 pixels, 512x2048 pixels, etc.) will be rendered at a reduced resolution on the unit. If this is causing a problem for your map, you can split the image and use multiple jpegs inside of one kmz file. Here's an example of a map has an images that has been split into 4 jegps.
Each jpeg should be less than 3MB.
The max number of Custom Map jpegs you can load is 100.
The time it take to draw the map is directly proportional to the file size of the jpegs being drawn.
